The Finer Details...
The Cow Shed is a striking renovated farm building which sleeps a maximum of 8 (3 bedrooms and 1 sofa bed); boasting an enclosed private garden with stunning views across the valley and a sheltered hot tub. This property's garden adjoins its neighbour, The Milking Parlour. Larger bookings can rent both spaces with access into either garden via a gate between the two; this gives families and large gatherings the freedom to move between gardens and enjoy access to both hot tubs (double bubble!). The Cow Shed can accommodate 8 guests, with 1 of the 3 rooms offering either a super-king or 2 single beds, depending on your requirements. The remaining 2 rooms have king and super-king beds and the sofa bed is located on the ground floor in the living room. After entering the property's hallway you'll see straight into the impressive kitchen and dining area; with it's vaulted ceiling, mezzanine balcony and upcycled milking jar lights. The fully-equipped kitchen has a large central island perfect for entertaining, with a separate area for dining featuring a handmade wooden table and seating for 8. Adjacent are the French doors which lead to the garden and sheltered hot tub - ideal for opening up the space on warm, sunny days (we do get them now and again!!) The spacious living area has a log burner for cosy nights by the fire and large comfy sofas. A specially built wooden room divider partially zones off the far-side giving extra guests on the sofa-bed some additonal privacy. Our only en-suite bedroom is located off the lving room featuring an ample superking bed and garden views. Climbing the wooden staircase from the kitchen you'll find the gorgeous mezzanine balcony where you can relax with a book and a brew whilst enjoying the view through the glass balustrade. The first floor bedrooms sit snugly beneath the sloping ceilings of the converted attic; the larger of the two with a super king bed (or 2 singles) and vintage furniture. The shared bathroom has both a bath and shower; with a large roof window letting in plenty of natural light. Our sheltered hot tub seats 6 and faces out over the valley where stunning views of the sunset can be enjoyed whilst soaking up the bubbles in the full-enclosed garden. A patio and outdoor dining area with brick built BBQ give you plenty of excuses to burn a few burgers and enjoy the afternoon sun.

Our Farm
Hello and welcome to Shady Hall Farm! We (the owners Allan and Karen) live on site and love to share our little slice of rural paradise with our guests.
We have a 75 acre site where Allan grew up; helping with milking the cows on his father's farm.
We returned to Shady Hall to restore and live in the farmhouse, slowly renovating the surrounding buildings which were originally used for milking etc.
We now share our farm with 3 self-catering barns and are proudly participating in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme; helping to protect and improve our local environment.
Although you won't find the usual farmyard animals here at Shady (bar grazing sheep in the colder months), you will see a wealth of wonderful countryside critters such as rabbits, hares, owls, foxes, badgers, butterflies, bees, bats, birds of all sizes, and even, on occasion, wild deer!
